A Mobile First Website Designer and PHP Developer in Dallas, TX

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website!

As I go about on my daily routine, I am in the habit of obtaining business cards from any business that I visit and later on, analyze the design of their website. It is fascinating to see the different website design types and creativity that I come across. These website designs fall into one of these three categories!

I remember when the internet first started getting popular. All websites developed around this era where developed with a Desktop Website Design and were viewed ONLY on desktop computers and monitors.

How can you tell if your website is using Desktop Website Design? Try to view your website using a standard size Smartphone. Can you read and navigate your website without pinching and zooming in and out? If your website is not Mobile Friendly, your website needs a COMPLETE REDESIGN!

The introduction of the 1st Smartphone forced the website designers to change their design strategy!

After Apple, Android, and Windows released their 1st Smartphone devices, there were a few problems: A new website design strategy was developed to address the new Smartphone devices. It is called Responsive Web Design (RWD). One Tell-Tale sign is that there are two different webpage layouts. One for a Desktop and another for a Smartphone device. This allowed companies to keep the original investment of their Desktop Websites and still address the new Smartphone phenomenon.

Some of these website designs are not very efficient so you should use the Google mobile test to see if improvements can be made to your website. How did your website perform in this test?

This is not the most current website design strategy and you need to be careful that the mobile layout contains the same content as the desktop layout! Also make sure is using Mobile Features such as: 3. RESPONSIVE WEBSITES USING CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (CMS)

Anyone can build a website in a matter of hours using specialized software where the user drags and drop pictures and adds text into a document that represent a web page. These websites are powered by what is called a Content Management System (CMS). The most popular software products are WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and Magento.

Most business owners usually do not really care about this categorization, terminology and technical jargon. All that they care is that the website is functional and looks good to the eye.

Let me make a business case to you as to why you should care! If your website uses WordPress or, you are considering building or upgrading a website that will use WordPress, you need to consider the following issues and risks: Scott Anderson recently wrote what I consider to be a great article that I would encourage you to read related to the WordPress software.

The most efficient method for detecting a website that uses a Content Management System is to use a FREE website called Just type your website name and the results will show all of the technologies used by that website.

As I have explained, the website design principles and strategies have changed several times as a result of technological changes. In the last 10 years, there has been a revolution in mobile technology. The trends and statistics related to Smartphone growth, mobile internet traffic and cell phone carrier network speed improvements are UNDENIABLE!

As a result of these mobile trends, a new website design strategy has been developed and it is called Mobile First. A Mobile First design strategy does not just concentrate on developing for the small screen of a Smartphone. It is also used to deliver better usability of websites, develop better use of screen real estate and, reduce the amount unnecessary elements from pages.

I encourage you to explore my Mobile First Tutorial so that you can understand the detail analysis that is needed to implement this type of website design. THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING!
